Most smart phones have GPS capabilities and can generate latitudinal and longitudinal data with photographic images, indicating where they were taken, as well as leaving geographic footprints within various applications and data. This geo-data can render users, as well as their families and friends, vulnerable; especially if the data is used in conjunction with other information obtained from social networks, blogs and websites.
David's talk will demonstrated, through case studies, how geo-data can leave users vulnerable to cyber-stalkers, cyber-casing and paedophiles.
