Sustainable travel
Motorcycle parking at Kedleston Road

We are committed to promoting and facilitating travel to our sites by alternatives to sole occupancy cars. A recent study ranked our travel plan (2003-2008) the fourth best of all Universities in the country.
Since then we have produced a Travel Plan (2009-2013) (PDF, 554kb) . We believe that this has what it takes to be the best.
Travel survey
In 2007 The University undertook a comprehensive travel survey of staff and students based at its Derby sites. Around 1300 responses were received.
The responses to this survey were used to shape developments in travel, including changes to car parking and the Unibus, as seen in the Travel Plan.
In 2010, a further survey was undertaken, gaining 1700 responses and provided an excellent picture of our positive progress in promoting sustainable travel
