Improving performance through marketing - a masterclass on branding and customer experience
Missed the talk?
The University of Derby marketing group hosted an afternoon with guest speakers Charlotte Morrison from Landor Associates, a multinational branding company, and John Leathem from Ford Retail, the car manufacturers, on Wednesday 27 October 2010.
Marketing and business students were invited to attend this masterclass in branding and customer experience.
The importance of branding
The students were given a real masterclass in branding from Charlotte, as she presented her work with Morrisons and how they managed to turn this fledging supermarket into a market leader.
Customer relations
As a future graduate and business professional, being up to date with current trends and developments will help students stand out from the crowd. John Leathem, Customer Relations Director of Ford Retail covered business and marketing theories and how they are used in the real world. He showed the students examples of good and bad customer relations and how providing a quality service can improve your business. His presentation also focused around the importance of maintaining, motivating and developing the workforce to reach the goals of the business.
"John from Ford was very interesting and brought to his presentation the same spirit he was trying to share about customer relationship management."
Joshua - marketing student
The event was rounded off with a open question and answer session, giving the students an opportunity to ask the guest speakers any burning questions.
