We recently held the Derby Business School student conference.

This event gave the opportunity for students and employers to learn about the success of our alumni students, and how their independent study had an impact on their career.

About the event

The conference showcased the benefits of completing an independent research project and what it can bring to students and employers alike.

Previous students presented their research, discussing their aims, methodologies, findings and conclusions, providing current students with a valuable insight into what sort of issues and problems research projects look at and the various solutions that can be applied to solve the problem of collecting reliable and valid data.

How students have helped employers

You will hear how the findings and recommendations of previous projects have helped our students in their own career development and been applied to help organisations save money and work more effectively.

Employers will be able to see how sponsoring employees through an undergraduate or postgraduate programme here at Derby will increase subject knowledge, develop crucial thinking and problem solving skills and find practical, workable solutions to real world problems.
