In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, we held an evening for the chance for members of the CMI, Derby Business School students and the Faculty to connect, network and be inspired.
This year we were joined by a guest speaker, entrepreneur Dawn Gibbins, MBE, DBA (honoris causa).
Through the Centre for Entrepreneurial Management, Derby Business School is proud of its success in relation to business start ups from graduates and others. Through its work with SMEs it has built up considerable expertise in entrepreneurship. This year we have been delighted by the large number of undergraduates taking the opportunity to study enterprise within their programmes.
About Dawn
The current SHE International Business Woman of the Year, Dawn Gibbins's view on business dares to be different - it's direct, dynamic and defining. Her evangelical character really comes to life when delivering talks and her bright presence has captivated and motivated audiences around the globe.
Dawn drove the specialist flooring manufacturer Flowcrete from a start-up 26 years ago into a world leader. Now, after its multi-million pound sale, she has now turned her attentions to Barefoot, a lifestyle brand embracing her passion for Feng Shui, health and well-being.
Her achievements include an honorary doctorate from Manchester Metropolitian University, the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year accolade and an MBE. She has also been made a 'Pioneer to the Life of our Nation' by Her Majesty The Queen.
