About the course
The BA (Hons) Business Management (CMI accredited) degree gives you a wide ranging introduction to all aspects of business, developing your knowledge and skills in areas from managing performance through to operating ethically. You'll develop your strategic skills, so you can spot and exploit opportunities that arise in your business career to the maximum potential.
The degree has been designed in close consultation with employers and professional bodies, so we are teaching you what industry requires in its business graduates, and so increasing your employability. It's also one of the few degrees in the UK where you will not only graduate with a BA (Hons) Business Management, but also a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership. You won't even have to take extra exams or submit extra coursework to get the CMI qualification as, in close consultation with CMI, we have combined module and CMI assessments together. This extra qualification will really stand out on your CV when you're ready to look for your first graduate job.
The subjects you cover throughout this degree don't exist in isolation, in business you'll need to use elements of each in different situations. So throughout you'll combine everything you learn and apply it to various business simulations and case studies. For example you could be setting up a business, looking at identifying your target market, advertising, preparing business plans and cash flows, doing a feasibility study.
This experience and practical application of your knowledge is what sets this degree apart from others, and is what prepares you fully for a successful management career.
