Promoting the Emotional Health of the Child and Adolescent

About this module

  • This three day course will be of particular interest to you if you are a health visitor or school nurse practitioner.
  • Upon completion you’ll be better placed to promote early cognitive development and assess attachment to offer appropriate support.
  • You’ll be supported through action learning sets and will engage in activities between study dates to compliment your learning.

Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a vital part of developing competent, capable health service practitioners prepared to deliver a dynamic, flexible, quality, client-focused service. If you're employed by the NHS in the East Midlands then you may be eligible for fee-free access to our LBR modules and/or programmes. You'll need to supply evidence of approval from your line manager and Trust Education Lead when you apply.

Continuing Professional Development

CPD is a core element of every health and social care professional's development journey. We have CPD modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (levels 6 and 7), which have all been tailored to meet the needs of practitioners and managers working within the health and social care sectors. Learning outcomes

You’ll cover the following topics:

  • Cognitive development of the baby, attachment and the adolescent brain and neuroscience
  • The changing nature of the family and significant transition points. Building effective relationships in adolescence.
  • Promotional interviewing in the antenatal, post natal and adolescent.

Studying via LBR
