Course length: Certificate in Higher Education can be completed in 12 months on a part time basis. Top up to the Foundation Degree with an additional 12 months of part time study. Top up to the full Honours degree with an additional 12 months.

According to the British Retail Consortium, in 2010 the retail sector generated approximately eight percent of the UK's GDP, with sales over £293 billion. The sector is a major employer with over 2.9 million people currently working in retailing, equating to 11 percent of the total workforce.

The framework covers different levels of employee role and can be studied as one programme, or in smaller pieces. THe qualifications build up to a full honours degree.
CertHE Professional Development (Retail Management)
This level 4 certificate of higher education is for sales advisors, supervisors or team leaders making their first start in management. It covers personal development planning, principles of marketing, business skills and dealing with people in organisations.
FdA Professional Development (Retail Management)
The level 5 foundation degree is for team leaders or new middle managers who have responsibility for managing budgets, performance reviews and team output. It covers advanced business skills (including performance management and KPIs, coaching and mentoring and organisation design), people management and marketing management (including buyer behaviour, managing products, distribution and pricing, and brand and customer relationships).
BA (Hons) Professional Development (Retail Management)
The level 6 degree is for middle managers who have autonomy in their role, team direction and budget scoping. It covers strategic marketing and business planning as well as HR management, leading and coaching and issues in retail management. It culminates in a work based project which brings together the learners knowledge of retail management whilst addressing an issue of relevance to the organisation.
This is a work based programme. Learners study through a combination of online study and work based learning.
