Course length: The MSC Supply Chain Improvement is currently available part time and takes up to 3 years. You will study in periodic three day blocks, typically Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

About this course

The MSc Supply Chain Improvement course is a new programme giving students the opportunity to gain new knowledge to help develop and improve Supply Chain operations and Logistics functionswithin organisations.

This is an applied programme for managers working or aspiring to work in a Supply Chain role and will provide in-depth understanding of strategy anddesign of modern Supply Chain and Logistics operations.

  • Improving Supply Chain and Logistics Operations

And you will study one of these option modules:

  • Storage and Warehousing
  • Purchasing Context

Diploma Level

You will study these core modules:

  • Information and ERP Systems Management
  • Supply Chain Systems Modelling

And you will study one of these option modules:

  • Transportation and Freight Logistics
  • International Procurement and Inventory

Masters Level

You will study this core module:

  • Business Impact Study

Entry requirements

Students will normally hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline at the 2:2 level or above, or its international or a professional programme equivalent (e.g. CIPS or CILT level 6 Qualification).

Applicants with a lower classification qualification may still be considered for entry to the programme where they can demonstrate a relevant level of work experience/knowledge to work at the required level. All applicants must have a minimum of three years of work experience in a management or supervisory position, supported by employer's references

How you will learn

The focus is on developing your analytic skills and evaluating your organisation’s practices and applying methods and techniques to your organisation as well as apply learnt methods and techniques.

Students will also be given specific tasks to undertake in between the taught sessions which will be applied to your organisation. The programme is taught with significant sector and subject experience and will be supported by current practitioners in significant roles.

Assessment methods include Work based tasks, research projects, work based reports, case study analysis and reflective management reports.
