This course is an initial award in teaching and learning and will provide 60 credits towards the Certificate in Education or Professional Graduate Certificate in Education.

The course is for you if you are a teacher or trainer and do not need to complete a full teaching qualification, but would like to undertake professional development in teaching and learning.

About this course

The course includes the Preparing to Teach Plus (Further Education and Skills) module and the module formerly known as CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector).

You will study this part time course for four hours each week.

Our Initial Teacher Training further education provision was recently awarded Grade 1 for training and assessment of its trainees (Ofsted, March 2012). The inspectors reported, “Outstanding training and assessment which results in trainees being highly reflective of their practice and possessing a good understanding of their own professional development needs.”
