About this course

Achievement of the MSc Business and Payroll Management signifies a deep, strategic understanding and application of payroll business management practice.

The programme is designed for graduates of the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management (formerly the IPP Diploma in Payroll Management), or for anyone with relevant payroll experience.

By attaining this qualification you can enhance your career, and will increase your general business acumen and strategic thinking ability, whilst at the same time achieving a significant personal goal.

Tutorials supplement the distance-learning study packs and encourage you to meet with your fellow students to exchange ideas and experiences. They also enable you to apply the understanding learnt through the study packs to practical payroll management problems. The workshops play a vital role in feedback and guidance, as well as providing an opportunity to have questions answered and areas of uncertainty clarified.

The Residential Schools take place early in each study year and will help you to settle in to the course material. They begin on Friday mornings and finish on Saturday evening.

Entry requirements

  • Foundation Degree in Payroll Management (or the former IPP Diploma in Payroll Management).
  • Other equivalent level five or six qualification or management experience.
  • If your first language is not English you will need an IELTS score of 6.

Apply directly to IPP at www.payrollprofession.org, or email msc@payrollprofession.org.

The course has been designed to open up even greater opportunities if you have already successfully completed the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management (formerly the CIPP Diploma in Payroll Management).

You will develop a broader and more strategic understanding of business concepts that can be applied within your job function, and will be recognised as a pioneer in payroll management study.

What our students say

"The course has been very demanding, but also highly enlightening. The mixture of business and payroll subjects was challenging but definitely worthwhile. The MSc Business and Payroll Management is definitely the next logical step after the Diploma."
