Architectural Design and Sociology

What is Joint Honours?

A Joint Honours degree gives you the opportunity to study two subjects as one degree. This type of degree will broaden your skill set and enhance your career prospects. You can combine any two subjects as long as they’re in different zones, find out what you can combine this subject with.

Architectural Design

You'll develop creative and technical architectural skills and an awareness of traditional and contemporary architectural design.

The course is practical and largely studio-based. You'll learn about traditional design alongside the application of the latest digital technology, including CAD (Computer Aided Design), virtual reality and multimedia.

Sociology

You'll study the behaviour of people in groups and of the relationship between these groups. This balance of studying major issues of concern for society and linking this to different concepts and theories, allows you to develop important skills personally and socially.

We use a wide range of teaching methods to make the subject alive and to help you achieve your full potential from lectures and seminars to film and video. You'll be assessed in different ways so that you have a chance to show your individual strengths and abilities. You'll also be supported throughout your studies by our teaching team who are experienced, approachable and easily contacted.
