BA (Hons) in Dance & Movement Studies and Sport & Exercise Studies

What is Joint Honours?

With joint honours, you can study for an honours degree in two or even three subjects. Find out more about joint honours.

Dance and Movement Studies

If you love dance and think it's played an important part in your own development, and you want to develop your skills so that you can work creatively with others, then this course is for you.

We'll encourage you to broaden your knowledge and experience of dance whilst giving you the support to develop in your area of interest. You'll build your skills in choreography and improvisation by working individually, and then moving on to work in small groups, and finally, you'll give a public performance in stage three.

During this course you'll have lots of opportunities to do practical work in our excellent sports facilities. Our physiology laboratory contains the latest equipment for testing and measuring health and fitness, and you'll use a range of computer software packages for performance and statistical analysis. You'll find some of the best lifting equipment available in our strength and conditioning room. We've also got treatment and specialist assessment rooms in our Clinical Skills Suite. And you'll also use our sports hall, outdoor pitches, floodlit synthetic football and hockey pitch and a health and fitness suite during the course.
