Media Studies and Human Resource Management
What is Joint Honours?
A Joint Honours degree gives you the opportunity to study two subjects as one degree. This type of degree will broaden your skill set and enhance your career prospects. You can combine any two subjects as long as they’re in different zones, find out what you can combine this subject with.
A joint honours degree is perfect for you if you want to study more than one subject. You can combine Media Studies with one or two other joint honours courses that are offered at our Derby Campus to create your own joint honours degree. You will be taught with students studying , but the modules you'll study will depend on how you decide to combine the subjects you choose.
You'll develop a high level of media literacy and an understanding of forms of media power and manipulation.
Human Resource Management
You can combine HR with another subject and study it as a major, joint or minor pathway, which means that you can choose the amount of HR modules you want to take in your degree.
The first stage will introduce you to business and HR. The second stage develops an understanding of the policies, procedures and practices of HR. You can choose to take a placement year as your third year, or move straight to the final stage where you'll be looking at HR strategies and how these link in to the overall organisation and business strategies.
