What is Joint Honours?
A Joint Honours degree gives you the opportunity to study two subjects as one degree. This type of degree will broaden your skill set and enhance your career prospects. You can combine any two subjects as long as they’re in different zones, find out what you can combine this subject with.
You’ll develop some of the basic skills you need to build a career as a journalist. You'll learn to use a range of multimedia technologies, ready for a career in a variety of journalistic fields including online or broadcast media production, PR, advertising and corporate communications. You'll study in our excellent facilities which include a television studio, radio editing booths, video editing suites, Mac suites and a newsroom equipped with the latest industry standard software.
A joint honours degree is perfect for you if you want to study more than one subject. You can combine Media Studies with one or two other joint honours courses that are offered at our Derby Campus to create your own joint honours degree. You will be taught with students studying , but the modules you'll study will depend on how you decide to combine the subjects you choose.
You'll develop a high level of media literacy and an understanding of forms of media power and manipulation.
