UDC Engineering Course Launches at Infrarail Exhibition
11 April 2012
One of the rail industry's biggest annual events will be the setting for the launch of a new University of Derby Corporate (UDC) course aimed at boosting UK engineering skills, explains Conor Moss, Head of Learning Solutions at UDC.
The new Masters degree (MSc) in Professional Engineering, is a work based postgraduate route to Chartered Engineer status.
It is particularly aimed at companies who have a group of engineers ready to begin further study. Projects and assignments are tailored to individual company training needs. It is taught and supported by tutors with both experience of the engineering sector and academic knowledge, with an emphasis on business specific training which can be immediately applied to the workplace.
On successful completion of this course, graduates can immediately apply for Chartered Engineer status.
Conor Moss said: "Having a highly skilled and motivated workforce in place is crucial to the success of a business, which is why investing in staff training is so important."
UDC - the business-to-business arm of the University of Derby - is a specialist in work-based learning and tailoring courses to employers' specific needs. Its training has been developed to minimise students' time out of the workplace and to maximise the benefits of what they learn for their organisation. UDC are currently working with the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering (NSARE).
Come and visit UDC at exhibition stand E30 at Infrarail on May 1-3 2012, or call 0800 678 3311.
