About the course

The Foundation degree offers opportunities to develop knowledge and skills. At the same time learners will:

  • Develop the theoretical underpinning for new and established practices
  • Apply these skills in the workplace/clinical setting
  • Undertake professional development, within an inter-professional team
  • Identify opportunities for self-reflection, future learning and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs.

We work with learners from many areas, including nursing, radiography and occupational therapy through to rehabilitation, social care and primary care.

How you'll learn

The Foundation degree is studied over two years and combines taught sessions and work based learning. Learners will attend weekly one-day teaching workshops. This is supplemented through work based learning, where theories and skills introduced in the workshops are applied and developed.

Work based learning

Work based learning is better for organisations. Your employees develop skills that directly help them in their role, and it leads to knowledge that is put to use straight away.

All that's required is a minimum group of 10 learners.
