Head of Corporate Sales
I joined University of Derby Corporate (UDC) from Capgemini where I was an Account Director. This company is a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and professional services. I have been in other high profile roles at organisations such as Mars Inc, Bass Brewers and Boots Contract Manufacturing.
My role as Head of Corporate Sales involves leading the team of Business Development Managers to build our client base. The UDC initiative is going to set the pace for employer engagement in higher education and it's incredibly exciting to be here right now.
Given the current economic climate it's vital that organisations focus on how to develop and improve the skills of their workforce. The University of Derby has a crucially important role to play in working with employers to upskill both the regional and national workforce.
We have a wealth of expertise here at UDC and we are experienced in delivering our programmes to a broad range of learners, it's now time to challenge ourselves further and start delivering our programmes to a wider audience.
I graduated with a First in Genetics and Biochemistry from The University of Nottingham, going straight into a year in research for the UK healthcare company Amersham International. Following this I took my first role as an account manager.
Each of the companies I've worked for has invested heavily in training their workforce and it's something I've come to believe in as absolutely essential. I've seen the benefits of what training can do for business and I'm passionate about enabling organisations to develop their people to achieve business success.
