Conor Moss
Head of Learning Solutions
I have been with the University of Derby since 2004. Whilst I was Programme Manager for the BA (Hons) and MA programmes in Events Management, I developed several qualifications in collaboration with key industry bodies to provide continuing professional development for individuals in the events industry.
I have won several awards in recognition of my contribution to teaching and learning. Colleagues nominated me for the University of Derby Certificate of Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and, under my management, the Events Management team were awarded the NOEA prize for Excellence in training for two consecutive years (2007 and 2008) as well as the University of Derby team award for excellence. The former award is particularly pleasing, as it is recognition from industry that the courses are fit for purpose and engage employers.
In 2008, I took on the role of Workforce Development Fellow for UDC, still working with the events industry, but also engaging with a much wider range of employers to develop and provide a variety of innovative employer-based educational solutions utilising new technologies to make a positive business impact.
More recently I was appointed Head of Learning Solutions at UDC and, in this role, I am keen to develop the UDC offer still further so that our formal university awards meet the needs of even more work based learners as they make a real impact on the development of their companies.
