Ann Minton
Workforce Development Fellow
I qualified as a diagnostic radiographer at Westminster Hospital in London, before moving to Nottingham and undertaking ultrasound training at the Queens Medical Centre. I then developed a particular interest in assisted conception and went to work with the prestigious IVF team at the Park Hospital in Nottingham, managing the hospital's imaging department.
I had always had an interest in education and training and moved to the University of Derby to work with the Radiography team, leading the Masters course in Medical Ultrasound, which had a clear focus on work based learning. Subsequently I have been a member of the Times Higher Education Supplement Award winning Learning through Work team and was granted the honorary title of University Principal Tutor in Work Based Learning.
I have great experience in working with organisations and individuals in a variety of sectors, to identify personal and professional education requirements and to develop solutions that meet identified needs, together with supporting learners through their studies. My role within UDC enables me to build upon this experience and to utilise these skills to meet the education requirements of potential business partners. I focus on developing education solutions for a range of organisations to meet their educational needs, including accrediting in company training.
