What is work based learning?
Work-based learning is focused on delivering a learning solution where the workplace is the focus of your study. Often these programmes will require some form of investigation around a work based issue, resulting in real change within the workplace. The focus of this type of learning is on personal development and the application of knowledge gained to the workplace.
What is an accredited qualification?
Accreditation is the process of giving something certification of credibility. Successful completion of UDC courses leads to University of Derby credit and awards. These are nationally and internationally recognised, based on the UK Framework for Higher Education Qualifications. They are recognised by employers and education institutions as evidence of academic achievement. Please see our accreditation web page for more details.
Do you have to come to Derby to study?
Our provision is flexible based on the business needs. Some qualifications do require you to study at one of several University of Derby sites, however, the majority of our provision can be taught where ever the client needs it. We are also able to provide e-learning solutions for clients where suitable.
Where is the University of Derby Corporate based?

What is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership?
A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (or KTP) is a programme to encourage collaboration between businesses and universities. KTPs are part-funded by the government, a business and a university. An associate is chosen to work in the business on a fixed-term project, with support from key academics in the university. For more information see Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.
