About the course
The Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing is a challenging, high-level two stage marketing qualification that demonstrates specialist professional knowledge across many areas and is a route to Chartered Marketer status.
Stage One covers four modules - Emerging Themes, Analysis and Decision, Marketing Leadership and Planning, and Managing Corporate Reputation. It will take you one year of part time study to complete all of these. At the end you will have achieved the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, a recognised CIM qualification throughout industry.
Stage Two is optional. If you decide to take this you will complete a dissertation or project of 15,000 words. This will take you between six months and one year, and you'll be supervised throughout. On completion you will gain the full CIM Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing qualification.
The Postgraduate Diploma will enable you to champion the customer experience and exert a strong influence on your organisation to adopt a customer orientation. You'll be able to contribute, along with other directors and senior managers, to your organisation's competitive strategy, align its activities to the customer, and manage your organisation's marketing activities.
By the end of this qualification you will be able to:
- Make the transition into strategic marketing management
- Work more cross-functionally at a senior management level
- Make a significant contribution towards the organisation's corporate and business strategy
- Contribute to board decisions
- Demonstrate a high level of leadership and influence
Who is it for?
This qualification is aimed at marketers who have already gained a significant level of knowledge and/or experience of marketing. The focus is on the strategic aspects of marketing management and is ideal for marketers currently working at a strategic level or aspiring to do so.

How you'll learn
You'll study part time on Tuesday evenings between 6pm and 9pm, supplemented by occasional weekend workshops.

How you're assessed
You'll be assessed using a blend of two basic methods:
- By formal examination
- By assignments such as coursework and case studies that require longer answers and will often be based on various findings and recommendations within your own company (or a company of your choice).

- £525 per module (you usually take 4 of these modules in total).
This price includes the provision of the core text and coffee/tea/water at each session.
