Simon can talk about discipline in the classroom, helping children have a healthy start and other aspects of education in the classroom today.

Case Study

In 2006, former teacher and education expert Simon Brownhill hit the national headlines for his work to help tame tearaway children in the classroom. Using toilet rolls to make 'behaviour binoculars' and using classical music in the classroom were some of the tried and tested ideas from hundreds available in a book researched and written by Simon, Fiona Shelton, and Advanced Skills Teacher Clare Gratton. Published by Continuum Books, 101 Essential Lists for Managing Behaviour in the Early Years was profiled in The Times Education Supplement, BBC Radio Five Live and a host of other national media.

In 2009, Simon was awarded a Practical Pre-School Gold Award for teaching resources and equipment from the Practical Pre-School for the Early Years Foundation Stage.The award recognises excellence in the fields of children's educational equipment, childcare, books and toys. Simon was awarded the Gold for his recent book 100 Ideas For Teaching Physical Development.
