Jasvinder has received widespread acclaim for having the courage to speak out about honour based violence in the Asian community - and is involved in pioneering research about the scale of the problem in the UK. She has extensive media experience, both nationally and internationally, especially on radio and television. Her first book Shame was a best seller and her second book Daughters of Shame was on the Sunday Times bestseller list in 2009, and she is the founder of the Asian women's refuge, Karma Nirvana. She is a recognised legal Expert Witness in family and criminal cases and has been heavily involved in the writing of the Forced Marriage Act.
