Wildlife artist and University of Derby honorary Pollyanna Pickering

Acclaimed wildlife artist and University of Derby honorary Pollyanna Pickering was a guest in our "Evening with..." series.

Pollyanna talked about her most recent expedition into the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan "Land of the Thunder Dragon" one of the world's last true wildernesses.  

Pollyanna has undertaken numerous expeditions to inhospitable terrain in order to sketch and study local and threatened animals, from the jungles of India to the deserts of North America.

About Pollyanna

Pollyanna's work sells in over 80 countries worldwide and has been exhibited in top international galleries such as the Royal Academy, the Tryon and the Barren Grounds Bird Observatory in Australia. She is patron of the Wildlife Art Society International and has received many awards for her artwork including Wildlife Artist of the year (2004).

In 2001 the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation was formed to raise funds for international conservation and disaster relief.
