Computing research ethics committee (CREC)

CREC monitors the implementation of the University Research Ethics Code of Practice within the subject area of Computing.

Following the guiding principles of non-malfeasance (regard for the rights and interests of others) and beneficence (serving the interests and well being of others), it undertakes ethical consideration and approval of research activities, including independent investigation of projects within Computing, with respect to staff research, student research activity associated with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as student research activity at postgraduate research level.

The committee meets at least four times in a year.
