Next generation development suite
A future in the games industry
At Derby we have a dedicated Next Generation Development Suite and a second specialist development suite for our gaming students.
Both suites have high specification PCs with a dedicated connection to many different gaming consoles, high definition tv's and plasma screens.
Complementing the hardware, both suites are stocked with a wide range of games and consoles ranging from the Sega Mega Drive and Jaguar to the Xbox 360s, PlayStation 3s, Wiis and professional development kits from Nintendo.
Our games courses are approved by Sony to be part of their PSP Educational Programme
This has allowed us to invest in a large number of PSP development kits. This is the actual kit that games developers get to work on in the gaming industry, and possibly the largest number of PSP development kits held by any single university.
You'll be able to develop your skills by using all of this fantastic gaming equipment when learning how to produce games.
