Derby is an open campus with a great international atmosphere, which made my feel very comfortable.

Dong Wang completed his MSc Advanced Computer Networks degree and now works as a computer networking tutor at the Lingnan Institute of Technology in China.

Why computer networks?

I thought a masters degree would show employers I have the knowledge and the motivation they are looking for. The course helped me learn how to independently complete assignments and papers by using various resources available at the university.

My career

The knowledge and experiences gained from Derby helped me to get my job at the Lingnan Institute of Technology in Guangzhou in China.

The study methods I learned at Derby have been invaluable to my job. They help me make the right decisions, do rational research and use valid research methods to obtain reliable outcomes.

A great place to be

Derby is an open campus with a great international atmosphere, which made my feel very comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and I found it to be a quiet and comfortable town to live and study in.

I would recommend studying at Derby and I am even considering going back there for my PhD. The lecturers are really supportive and extremely knowledgeable in their subject areas.
