Why a masters?
I felt that studying a masters would give me the skills and knowledge I would need to start a career in computing. The course has helped me to keep up to date with research in computing. It has been challenging at times as there is a such alot to cover.
Computing impacting on everyday life
The modules have all been interesting, especially Advanced Databases, which has shown me how databases have a huge impact on everyday life, from websites to the NHS. The Advanced Security Protocols module has given me an insight into how complex computer security is.
The knowledge and the experience I've gained from doing my studies at Derby have made me more interested in computing and made me aware of other areas I hadn't thought about before.

The lecturers and the technicians have been supportive throughout. They always give you the help that you need and are easy to approach.
