I felt that with the differing aspects including forensics, law and computing, this course would be better suited to me.

Aisha is currently studying BSc (Hons) Computer Forensic Investigation.

I began studying at Derby University three years ago when I started the access course. The level three modules I chose to take on my access course were specific for me to go on to the Computer Forensics and Security degree at Derby University. I have just finished year one of my degree and have learnt so much already regarding various aspects of computing and forensics.

IT industry and courses are dominated by males? Think again

When I started my degree I anticipated many aspects of computing to be male orientated. I was very pleased when I joined to find other like-minded females were on my course. I felt that with the differing aspects including forensics, law and computing, this course would be better suited to me as a female, as well as improving my prospects of finding a job in future. I hope to use my skills learned on this degree to go into the area of child protection.

The people and the course

I've met some lovely people since starting this degree, and although the work has been hard, I have not for one moment regretted wanting to do this course. I'm really looking forward to the law aspect in year two, and most of all, I'm looking forward to my placement year in year three.

Computer Forensics is the one for me

Out of all the computer courses that Derby University has to offer, I would choose Computer Forensics time and time again, as it is versatile and teaches you many different aspects of computing. Once I leave my degree, I know that I will be able to walk into any computer environment or digital crime scene and will know and feel comfortable with many aspects of my surroundings.
