The standard of teaching on the course is excellent. Without it I probably wouldn't have secured such a great placement.

Henry won The Brett Butcher Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Graphics for 2009. He's studying BSc (Hons) Computer Games Programming.

Why did you choose Derby?

Derby had the best game programming course I could find, and was one of the few universities teaching C++.

What has been the best part of your studies so far?

It has to be my placement year at Eurocom. I was working on Dead Space: Extraction for Wii. And also winning this award - I was really surprised and pleased when I found out about it.

Preparation for the future

The standard of teaching on the course is excellent. Without it I probably wouldn't have secured such a great placement. The course is hard work but enjoyable. I plan on finishing my degree and then I want to continue my career as a game programmer.
