Why Derby?
During my secondary school in Poland I participated in the youth exchange programme for a year and that made me decide to study abroad. The University of Derby was a great choice for two reasons: I did not have to get any additional exams or paperwork apart from translating my achievements to English, and I had a chance to study the course that not many universities in the United Kingdom offer, namely Computer Forensics and Security. Ultimately, the international society and practical knowledge attained here is invaluable.
An excellent preparation for the future
I'm quite sure that the course is the finest selection of modules to prepare students for their placement year and finally their future career. As well as the studying, there's the Derbyshire Information Security Consortium (DISC) which holds regular free guest talks delivered by leading high profile professionals in the security area. This is an excellent example of Derby's dedication to broadening students' knowledge and creating links with the local industries in the field.
Looking to the future
I would like to gain the necessary experience through my placement year and then after my graduation, find a job in the Information Security and/or Digital Forensics field in order to a few years later commence my masters degree.
I would highly recommend this course. It's challenging but it will quickly capture your imagination.
