Study full time, part time or online

Our wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses are innovative and practical. You'll gain core skills useful for any career, as well as getting the opportunity to specialise in an area of your choice.

Most courses are available full time and taught on campus here at Derby.  You can also study some courses or modules part time, at your workplace or online.

Specialist degrees in computer gaming

We're one of very few UK computing departments offering these courses. Our expertise in games programming and computer games modelling and animation will give you a head start in finding a job in this competitive market.

The latest facilities and equipment

You'll be working in computer labs that are the envy of industry. Our games programming studios are supported by Microsoft and Nintendo, we have a dedicated CISCO laboratory, as well as general computing labs.  Our forensics lab is equipped with industry standard software, and we have a wide range of online resources, so you can get course materials when you need them.

We're a Microsoft IT Academy

We're are accredited to deliver Microsoft Official Courses to our students and also to businesses. You'll have access to Microsoft online learning resources and you'll be linking your academic learning to real-world job skills. All this is part of our commitment to ensure that you graduate with the IT skills you need to be successful in today's job market.

Our staff are involved in research, and work in close consultation with industry. Particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Network Security, Software Engineering and Strategic Information Systems.
