Peter Rides To Paris

Peter Walker, Community Relations Officer at the University of Derby took part in a charity bike ride from London to Paris and is hoping to raise £3,000 for Diabetes UK.

The 500km cycle ride started in London on 31 August and finished in 40 degree temperatures in Paris on 4 September. A total of 31 riders took part aiming to raise £50,000 for a variety of charities.

 Peter and his son Michael trained for six months to prepare for the bike ride as a way of saying thank you to Diabetes UK for all their hard work. Michael developed diabetes when he was three and Peter said: "Diabetes UK have been a fantastic source of support, education and fun for Michael, and reassurance for my wife, Lindsay and me.
