Students and staff from the University of Derby recently joined community members to clean up a stretch of Markeaton Brook - and found all sorts of junk in the process!
The activity was a joint exercise between the volunteers and local group Friends of Markeaton Brook.
Peter Walker, Community Relations Officer at the University, said: "I was so pleased to see Friends of Markeaton Brook respond so positively to our staff and student's initiative.
"It's never easy cleaning out waterways but the benefits are there for all to enjoy.
"I hope such great work continues in the future".
