How do I find postgraduate courses abroad?
Studying abroad and the idea of living as a student in another part of the world appeals to many people. Courses are usually taught in the host country's language.
Finding postgraduate courses to study abroad
- Prospects has country profiles with details on studying in each country.
- The Fulbright Commission promotes and supports educational exchange between the UK and the US.
- PLOTEUS aims to help students find out about studying in Europe and has information about exchange programmes such as Erasmus
- The UNESCO Study Abroad book - which we have for reference purposes - is a useful resource.
- Check whether the qualification will be recognised in other countries through the National Academic Recognition Information Centre.
How to apply
The application process varies from country to country. You may be asked for:
- An application form
- CV
- Academic transcript
- Degree certificates
- Letter of recommendation or references
- Health certificates and evidence of health insurance,
- Evidence of financial support.
Terms start at different times in different parts of the world.
Cost of studying abroad
Course costs are very variable depending on where you propose to study. Education is relatively inexpensive in Europe compared to much of the rest of the world.
