My background
I am a qualified careers adviser and member of the Institute of Careers Guidance and have an MA in Education from University of Derby. I have 30 years experience working as a careers adviser and manager within the careers service, working with schools, colleges and also on adult and community based guidance projects.
Prior to joining the University in 2004, I was a Student Services Manager within a large further education institution with a remit to develop effective tutoring and careers education programmes. I joined the University as Head of Careers in 2004 with a brief to deliver effective careers education, information and guidance policies and practices and to work across the institution to develop best practice in careers education and employability.
