My background
I am a qualified Adult and Further Education Tutor with over 10 years’ experience of working in both Community Education and FE Colleges. During this time I have developed a specific interest in the importance of providing accurate and timely educational Information and Advice and qualified as an Information and Advice Worker in 2001. For three years I was responsible for providing a comprehensive service to the Adult Education Service in the Amber Valley area.
Since joining the University of Derby in 2004 I have been based in the Access to Further Education Centre. I am responsible for providing a pre-entry and on programme Information and Advice Service to students on the Modular Access/Foundation Programme as well as a general advice service to Mature Students considering entering Higher Education.
I am a member of the National Association of Educational Guidance For Adults.
