There are plenty of supermarkets including a Tesco, two Sainsbury’s and a really big ASDA. You can find specialist shops too in other areas of Derby like Normanton, which sell Indian, Asian and Eastern European food.
Derby hosts monthly farmers’ markets, selling fresh breads, cheeses and meats from local producers. There are also continental and Christmas markets, with lots of different foods on offer from all over the world.
Eating out
There are plenty of places to eat with different types of food on offer, including Italian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Thai, as well as well-known names like Zizzi, TGI Fridays, Frankie & Bennie’s, Nando’s and Pizza Express and plenty of cheap takeaway restaurants.
Dining in Buxton
You'll find a wide range of places to eat in Buxton, with all sorts of food on offer including Italian, Indian, Chinese and Thai, as well as well-known names like Pizza Express, Subway and Wetherspoons. And of course, there are lots of late night takeaway places.
Come and try out Russi, an Indian restaurant that's new to Buxton. There's a loyalty scheme for takeaways and student discounts if you eat in.
There's a variety of coffee shops too. The Source Cafe is a warm and friendly place to meet friends, or you could try the delicious freshly baked muffins and big cups of fresh coffee in Project X.
