Students with special requirements - Applying for a room - University of Derby

Students with special requirements

Student with special requirements

“I wouldn’t contemplate living anywhere else but in halls - the disabled facilities are fantastic, staff are on hand 24 hours a day and my carers can stay in halls. It’s safe and secure and best of all its really friendly.”

It’s important to tell us about any health or wellbeing concerns you have when you apply so that we can support you during your stay with us.

We have a member of our team who is dedicated to dealing with applications from anyone with specific needs and suggest that you contact Charlotte as early as possible so that suitable accommodation which matches your requirements can be arranged.  We have a range of adapted accommodation suitable for students with a disability and if further adaptations are needed we are usually able to arrange these given an appropriate timeframe.

We can arrange for you to view the rooms available and if possible choose the one most appropriate for your needs.  Please call to make an appointment to view rooms or to discuss your requirements.

Access Information

For detailed information about access in our accommodation please visit our disabledgo entry.

Residents who are under 18

We have a specific application and allocation policy for those applicants who will be under 18 when they move into halls of residence.  Find out more.
