Prizes
- Five finalists from each category will be selected by a panel of judges
- The 15 finalists will have their work exhibited in the Devonshire Dome during Buxton Festival 2012 as well as being announced in the local media and listed on the competition website
- The 15 finalists will be invited to an awards event at the Devonshire Dome during Buxton Festival 2012 and have opportunity to read their poems
- First, Second and Third place poets from the Open Category win cash prizes of £300, £200, £100 while fourth place poet will receive a free place at a Poetry Business Writing Day and the fifth place poet will receive a year's subscription to The North magazine and a Smith/Doorstop book of their choice
- First, Second and Third place poets of the Young People's and Children's categories win book tokens
- The three first place poems will be published in the 2012 Buxton Festival programme.
