Our judges for 2012 are:
Peter Sansom
Peter has been Fellow in Poetry at both Leeds and Manchester Universities, and Company Poet for Marks & Spencer and the Prudential. He has published Writing Poems with Bloodaxe Books and his poetry collections are from Carcanet, including a new Selected Poems (2010). He runs The Poetry Business with Ann, and they often tutor together, for the Arvon Foundation and in schools and colleges.
Ann Sansom
Ann is a poet, playwright and tutor. She has published six collections of poetry, most recently In Praise of Men & Other People (Bloodaxe Books), and has appeared in many publications including the TLS, Poetry Review and Russian Vogue. She is currently working with The British Film Institute on a screenplay and a series of film-related poems. She is a writing tutor for the Poetry Society, WEA and the Arvon Foundation.
Ann and Peter live in Sheffield, where they are co-directors of The Poetry Business and editors of The North magazine and Smith/Doorstop books.
The young people's and children's poetry competition will be judged by Maria Carnegie - Learning and IT Services Manager at the University of Derby Buxton and Dr Teresa Barnard - Lecturer in English at the University of Derby.
