Getting to the Buxton Campus on 2 Wheels

Cycling

The Devonshire Campus has facilities for cyclists to store their bikes free of charge in the sheltered bays which are located behind the old gatehouse.

There are showers within the catering changing rooms that staff and students can use to freshen up.

Cycle Security

We have a very good security record for cycling, however its always good to lock your bike securely! Heavy duty bike locks can be obtained from the security office at a heavily subsidised rate.

Motorcycling

Motorcyclists are welcome at the Devonshire Campus. Motorcycles do not require a parking permit, and can be parked free of charge on site. There is a sheltered motorcycle parking area within the main car park.

Special Events

Each year, in June, we hold a bike ride between Buxton and Derby. Around 100 people take part, having great fun and raising money for charity in the process.

We will also be undertaking a periodic Motorcycle Event in the Dome. Motorcyclists are also welcome to join the University Motorcycle Club.
