Swizzels Matlow Limited are the largest employer in the New Mills area, having a work force of over 600. The Company is still essentially a family concern. The sons of the founders are all actively involved as Directors of the Company and have now been joined by members of the third generation. Their functions are by no means rigidly defined and perhaps the secret of the success of the Company can be attributed to their versatility.
How we solved it
A comprehensive programme of training in NVQ level 2 in Food Manufacturing has been agreed to recognise the experience of all the staff.
Results
Swizzels Matlow are very pleased to be working with the University of Derby through its Buxton site and are looking forward to benefiting from the training of their staff in increased efficiencies, innovation and improved working practices.
