Singaporean Partner visits the University of Derby

A delegation from our sole Singaporean Partner visits the University of Derby

Sandra Shirling, Registrar, and Benjamin Tey, Assistant Admissions Manager from our sole international collaborative partner in Singapore, Aventis School of Management, visited the University on 15-16 October 2015.

The guests met with the academic teams for the three UoD programmes Aventis offers in Singapore, the University of Derby’s  BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance (top up), BA (Hons) Business Management (top up) and BSc Psychological Studies (top up). They also benefited from a tour of the Kedleston Road Campus and met with relevant support teams such as Admissions and Business Services and they even got the chance to observe the Derby Business School Assessments boards.

On the second day, the partners met with the University Strategic Partnerships Unit Head of International Partnerships, Karl Smith, and received some marketing advice on how to promote the University of Derby on their campus, proudly receiving a plaque for their reception area saying  ‘Proud Partner of the University of Derby’.

Partnership Manager Gail Thrippleton also arranged for the guest to visit Derby County football club, which they thoroughly enjoyed. ‘It was great to welcome Sandra and Ben this time around at the University. Sandra and Ben are the operational team counterparts in Singapore and it was extremely useful for them to visit the university and put faces to names, it makes the partnership more real’, she said.

With over 50 University of Derby students studying at Aventis School of Management, Aventis is one of our longest standing partner based in East Asia.
