Two tennis courts have been built next to the Kedleston Road site's new all-weather sports pitch.

Former England and Derby County football star Roy McFarland opened the pitch in November (2008), when a staff football tournament was also held.

The two tennis courts, built on spare land between the pitch and the University site's main driveway, are now close to completion.

It is anticipated that the courts will be completed by the end of February, although the green/red resin finish put on them is unlikely to be laid on until April. This is because the surfacing cannot be put on in cold weather.

The tennis courts should be open to use by staff and students shortly after this is done. They will need to be booked through Estates Management.
