What we do
If you have research that needs doing in a professional way, then the Faculty of Business, Computing and Law will be able to help you.
With around 150 staff, we have a wide range of both academic and professional knowledge that we can apply to the work that you need doing. We also have experience of working with public, private and voluntary sector bodies requiring research and consultancy at local, regional, national and even international levels.
How we can help you
We offer MPhil and PhD programmes for full or part time study in a range of areas. These areas include expertise within Business and Management, Computing, Languages, Mathematics, Technology, Discourse Analysis, Cultural Studies and Law.
Applied Computing and Entrepreneurial Management are promoted as particular research strengths. Over 50 research active members of staff ensure doctoral programmes can be offered across a wide range of research interests.
The primary nature of research activity is practice-based and applied. Many areas of research involve working closely with industry, including Rolls-Royce and other agencies in the UK, Eastern Europe and the Far East. Our staff are happy to discuss the possible applications of our research with interested companies and other organisations.
