The Employable Futures points are awarded for engagement in a range of activities that can help boost employability. Employers are very interested in students and graduates that can provide evidence of their skills from a wide range of activities.
Employable Futures points are awarded for university-based or related activities where your involvement or attendance can be verified. The points are based on the level of engagement and relevance to developing employability.
Below is a list of the activities where points can be gained, and the points offered for each of them. This will also provide an indication of the types of skills and experience that employers most value. There are a broad range of the employability related activities that students can currently engage in. These might be provided by the Career Development Centre (CDC), the Student Union (UDSU), the Faculty (BCL), Team Derby or the Student Employment Agency (SEA).
The Employable Futures programme will offer a number of rewards for students acquiring 200+ points. All students achieving a minimum of 100 points will receive an Employable Futures Certificate of completion which will highlight the activities that they have completed and can be used as evidence when making applications for placement/internships and graduate jobs.
