A centre for excellence
We've been identified by the Worshipful Company of Weavers as one of only six universities in the UK to receive recognition as a centre for excellence in weave, giving you opportunities for scholarships and assisted work placements.
Our students also have strong links with the industry, notably Stephen and David Walters, Cristal Martin, Donna Karan and Cast Creations. Artsthread, the largest student global website is the brainchild of a Derby textile graduate and continues to support our students.
We also support students getting started in the creative industries through Banks Mill - an incubation unit dedicated to providing workspace and business support activities.
