FORMAT is one of the UK's leading contemporary photography and media festivals organised by QUAD in partnership with Derby City Council, our University and Arts Council England. The festival celebrates the wealth of contemporary practice in international photography.
FORMAT is the place to see an incredible range of work, exhibiting alongside the best known professionals, during a mixture of exhibitions, conferences, screenings, workshops, talks and tours.
We are a key player in the promotion of the event as well as the conferences and events. The last FORMAT exhibition was based on the theme 'from film still to still film', positioned in the half-light between these two narrative and technical sensibilities, colliding fact with fiction, history with fantasy and reality with cinema.
